Maxence Caqueret was born 15th February 2000 in Vénissieux, France. Caqueret began his football career when he joined local FC de Corbas spending one season before moving to join FC Chaponnay Marennes in 2011.
His impressive performances caught the attention of scouts of Lyon who enrolled Caqueret into their academy in 2011, aged 11. Caqueret's elder brother was a defender who never made the grade at Lyon. Caqueret was so impressive they almost instantly made him captain and he went on to captain Lyon at every age group. Caqueret idolised Barcelona and Spain legend Andres Iniesta and played futsal alongside his football. After rising through the academy and representing France youth international along the way it was felt his debut would be too far away, his first team debut on 5 January 2019 in a 2–0 away win against Bourges 18 in the Coupe de France, aged 18. However, his breakout came the following season and he’s just blossomed from there, his sizzling performances has made his position untouchable.
